Kota Permai GCC

Kota Permai Golf & Country Club opened in 1998 in Kota Kemuning, a residential township in Shah Alam about 20 minutes' drive from central Kuala Lumpur. Australian architect Ross Watson designed the 18-hole, par-72 parkland course, which uses rolling ground, mature trees and several lakes and ponds that come into play on a number of holes. Its best-known hole is the par-4 2nd, which has water along the left side of the fairway. The club has a long tournament record: it hosted the Asian Tour's Volvo Masters of Malaysia from the late 1990s, and the Malaysian Open in 2008, when the event was co-sanctioned by the European Tour, and again in 2020. Facilities include a two-tier driving range, short-game practice areas, a golf academy, restaurants and a recently renovated golfers' wing with changing rooms and lounges. Good to know: Weekend play is Sunday morning only (RM790). Minimum 3 players per flight. Buggies on cart paths only.
