Els Club Langkawi
The Els Club Teluk Datai occupies about 47 hectares on the northwest coast of Langkawi island, in an area of mature rainforest with natural streams. The layout drops toward the Andaman Sea, with the limestone ridges of the Mat Chinchang range rising behind it. An earlier course on the site was rebuilt by four-time major winner Ernie Els, reopening in 2014 as his first course in Southeast Asia. Five holes (the 5th, 7th, 8th, 16th and 17th) run beside the sea, and the club describes the course as having no bunkers. It plays to roughly 6,750 yards from the championship tees, and the club is managed by Troon Golf. Facilities include a clubhouse with dining, golf shop, locker rooms, practice areas, caddies and carts. Good to know: Caddie optional: RM120. Buggies allowed on fairways (subject to club and weather).
