Els Club Desaru (Els Design)

The Ocean Course is the Ernie Els-designed course at Desaru Coast on Johor's south-east coast, opened in 2016. It is built from three nine-hole loops named Lakes, Coast and Ridge, so visitors normally play two of them as an 18-hole round. The routing moves through wetlands, lakes and gently rolling ground beside the South China Sea, and the Coast nine has holes close to the beach. Multiple tee boxes on each hole let the course suit a range of abilities. The wider Els Club has a second 18-hole course, the Valley Course, plus an academy par-3 course, two clubhouses and the Els Performance Golf Academy. Good to know: Caddie optional. Free driving range use 1 hour before tee-off. Buggies on cart paths only.
