Ballyshear Golf Links (Ban Rakat Club)

Ballyshear Golf Links is the course at Ban Rakat Club in Samut Prakan, about 35-40 minutes from central Bangkok, and was Gil Hanse's first design in Asia. It was built on the site of the former Kiarti Thanee Country Club and opened for play in 2021. The routing recreates the template holes of the lost Lido course by C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor, reinterpreted by Hanse and Jim Wagner to fit the land, with the 2nd and 6th swapped because of boundary constraints. Features include the 'Channel' and 'Cape' water-guarded holes at the 4th and 5th and a 605-yard par-5 'Long' hole at the 17th. It measures a little over 7,000 yards from the back tees. Ban Rakat is a members' club with a Kengo Kuma-designed clubhouse and land reserved for a future hotel.
