Ayer Keroh Golf & Country Club
Ayer Keroh Country Club is a 27-hole jungle-and-lake course about 13 km north-east of Melaka town, close to the Ayer Keroh interchange of the North-South Highway. The original two nines, Tunku's and Ghafar's, were carved from virgin jungle and ready for play in 1964, with a design team led by Chief Minister Tun Abdul Ghafar Baba. The Governor's Nine was added in the mid-1990s, and the three nines are laid out around Ayer Keroh Lake, which comes into play on several holes. Fairways are lined with dense trees, bunkers are relatively few and mostly beside the greens, and the closing hole on Tunku's nine is a par 5 of over 600 metres. The club hosted the 1989 Malaysian Open and offers a clubhouse, restaurant, driving range, swimming, tennis and squash facilities. Good to know: Caddie optional: RM80, paid at the club. Weekend and public holiday mornings RM230. Buggies allowed on fairways (subject to club and weather).
