Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort
The Awana course sits in the hills of Genting Highlands, around 3,100 feet above sea level and roughly an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur. It opened in 1986 to a design by Ronald Fream and is known for a tight, undulating layout with plenty of elevation change, tree-lined holes and two-tiered greens. Ponds guard the greens on the 4th and 15th holes. In 2026 the course reopened as an 18-hole layout following a remodel of all holes, with rebuilt greens, fairways, bunkers and tees, additional Black and Gold tee options, one relocated hole, and upgraded drainage and irrigation. The reopening was officiated by the Sultan of Pahang, and the resort offers stay-and-play packages and a driving range. Good to know: Buggies on cart paths only.
