Located within the grounds of Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang just a short drive from Kuala Lumpur, the UPM Golf Course offers a great value-for-money experience.
The par 72, 6295-metre course consists of two distinct nines, the original Orchard Nine which was built in 1981 and the newer Forest Nine which was added in the early 1990s. The Orchard Nine meanders its way through the campus grounds, featuring long and wide fairways leading to elevated, upturned saucer-style greens. As its name suggests, the Forest Nine has a jungle like setting with narrow and undulating fairways lined by dense vegetation.
One point of interest is that the greens are turfed with Satiri, a new strain of superdwarf turf developed by the university and launched as a commercial product in 2008.
Green fees are a steal at RM40 on weekdays and RM70 on weekends, while buggies are available at RM50. There is a decent clubhouse with changing rooms and a restaurant.
