One of the icons of Malaysian golf with a colourful history dating back to 1893, Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) offers two 18-hole championship courses and a par-30 executive course virtually within walking distance of the Kuala Lumpur CBD
Venue for the Malaysian Open on numerous occasions since its inception in 1962, the historic Old Course measures 6,981 yards from the championship tees and furnishes a great test of golf with its strategic design and challenging greens. The New Course meanwhile is a mite shorter at 6,897 yards, and features generous fairways and undulating greens.
Originally laid out in 1921, both courses have undergone numerous renovations and refurbishments over the years to become full-fledged modern layouts while retaining an 'old world' feel with parkland-style, tree-lined fairways.
The best part about golfing at RSGC is the amazing contrast between the lush fairways and the panoramic views of the KL city skyline, including the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower. This is a members' club and is not open to walk-in visitors, but tourists can book tee times through their hotels.
Note that this is a walking course with caddies.
