Located close to the sea in Tanjung Harapan, Port Klang Golf Resort (PKGR) is a friendly, 18-hole course crafted by local design firm Instangreen.
The course opened for play in 1991 and measures 6,304 metres from the blue tees, featuring wide, inviting fairways lined by casuarina trees. There are numerous ponds and monsoon drains that cut across play, but for the most part they do not demand significant water carries. Built on what used to be swamp land, the course is understandably flat and most golfers should be able to score well as the greens are quite straightforward.
One of the outstanding holes is the par four 18th, a dogleg left of 362 metres which requires a drive over water and trees.
This is one of the few clubs that still uses Turfmates, which are included in the golfing rate of RM50 (weekdays) and RM100 (weekends). After a round, golfers usually make a beeline for the numerous seafood restaurants located nearby.
