Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club is one of the more popular golfing haunts in Negeri Sembilan, offering a pretty 27-hole course with wide, undulating fairways. The course is split into three nine-hole tracts, each named after its main feature - the 3,054-metre Mango Nine, 3,045-metre Island Nine and 3,022-metre Pines Nine.
Whichever combination chosen, the course will provide an enjoyable test for all levels of golfers and is best described as a fair challenge. One of the standout holes is the par five 17th of the Island Nine, which at just 427 metres from the black tees is reachable in two - but the target is an island green, so the prudent play is a lay-up followed by a wedge on.
Green fees are RM120 on weekdays and RM200 on weekends, while buggies cost RM85. Caddies are available for RM50 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Nilai Springs is about 35 minutes' drive south of Kuala Lumpur and 15 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Golfers who wish to stay the night can do so at the adjoining 185-room Nilal Springs Resort Hotel.
