Located in Bukit Cerakah just 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, Monterez Golf & Country Club offers a short but challenging
18-hole course that is one of the most popular in the Klang Valley.
Designed by Peter Dalkeith Scott, the par-71, 5738-metre layout makes up for its lack of length with narrow fairways, sharp doglegs and an assortment of hazards ranging from strategically-placed bunkers to lakes and out-of-bounds.
Indeed, this is a thinking man's course and leaving the driver in the bag may be a wise move on many holes. The most demanding hole is probably the par four second, a mild dogleg right of 351 metres lined by water along its right all the way to the tricky, kidney-shaped green.
Green fees are priced at RM88 on weekdays and RM165 on weekends, inclusive of buggy. Contact the club for latest rates and promotions.
One of Monterez's unique features is its Mayan-style clubhouse, which has a wide range of facilities.
