With a history dating back to 1890 when it was set up as the seven-furlong Kinta Gymkhana Club by British colonists, the Kinta Golf Club in the tin-mining town of Batu Gajah is one of the oldest clubs in the country.
A nine-hole golf course was built within the race track in the early 1920s (actual date unknown) but with the opening of the Perak Turf Club in Ipoh in 1926, racing activities soon ceased. Nine more holes were added in the mid-1990s and the current par-70 layout measures 5,590 metres from the blue tees. There's a nice mixture of tight, tree-lined holes and wide open fairways, while its relative lack of length and the fact that there are not many bunkers and lakes make this a pleasant course to play.
Green fees are only RM45.40 on weekdays and RM66.60 on weekends. Buggies cost RM63.60.
The basic clubhouse has a golfer's terrace, proshop and changing rooms.
