The 36-hole Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS) or Subang
National Golf Club has a rich legacy, dating back to 1963 when the country's first Prime Minister, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, decided to initiate the building of a new golf course in Petaling Jaya.
The championship Putra Course crafted by Japanese architect S.l. Inouye opened for play in 1968 and is a traditional, parkland style layout hailed as the best cowgrass course in the country. Demanding strategic play and accuracy, the 6,326-metre course was the venue for the Malaysian Open in 1983, 1987 and 1991.
Built in 1986, the par-70, 5,732-metre Kelana Course is a more modern and friendlier layout designed by the American firm of Bradford, Benz and Poellot.
KGNS is one of the most active members' clubs in the country and you will need to be signed in by a member to play. There are no cash transactions.
