If you're looking for a fuss-free but challenging round of golf, then the Daiman 18 Johor Bahru public course is perfect. Located in the township of Johor Jaya just a short drive from the city centre, the par 71 course measures just 5,731 metres from the blue tees but will test your skills with its tight, oil palm tree-lined fairways and often tricky lies.
Numerous OBs, ponds and bunkers will punish wayward approach shots, making this a good training ground to sharpen your accuracy and course management. Two of Daiman's toughest holes come late in the round - the 16th is the longest par four on the course at 416 metres and is well-bunkered all the way, and the 149-metre par three 17th plays over water and has trees on the left partially impeding your view of the green.
Green fees are RM75 on weekdays and RM155 on weekends, including buggy. You can opt to walk with a trolley for just RM53 on weekdays.
The simple clubhouse has decent Facilities that include changing rooms and one of the best Chinese restaurants in Johor Bahru.
